"The Bistro" is located in the heart of historic downtown Comfort in the building formerly occupied by the Comfort Post office. The “814” in the Bistro’s name represents the original street address of the site when it was the post office and the building, which is a State Historical Site, still garners the “814” on the window above the entrance.

This was my first time in 814 Texas Bistro, but I was thoroughly impressed by the service! We got authentic southwest flavor food, and the prices were reasonable too. The menu changes every week depending on the ingredients the chef gets fresh. It doesn't get more chef-centric than this! Great place to get a bite!
I had the best steak ever, and my girlfriend loved it! I didn't know what a good, medium-rare steak was until I went to 814 Texas Bistro. The owner takes pride in his restaurant and visits each table asking for reviews and recommendations on the food. The flavors are so unique, and the sauces are perfect
We've been there 3 times now for dinner, and we love it. The food is very good, the ambiance is perfect, and the service is excellent! Though there wasn't a kid's menu on there, the chef was able to whip up a delicious roast chicken salad that my son loved. You won't regret a visit here.
I am usually not a fan of places with generic names such as "X bistro," but after trying the southwestern dishes here, I must say I enjoyed it. I'm pretty much a Texas girl, born and bred. I can tell you that this isn't the usual mediocre Southwestern cuisine, either. Many places serve southwest flavors here, which have a lot more authenticity. I highly recommend this place.
I'm so glad I found this place! It's one of the best I've had in a while. The service is great. The food is great. The decor is so comfortable and homey. The owner is friendly but professional and well-respected in his community. I'll be back for sure!
